JOE SAMAHA

Joe Samaha has been working in real estate brokerage and investing for over 35 years. His market insight, planning, and networking skills and expertise led him from working as a top-producing commercial Realtor in the Washington DC area, to the regional Top 5 – Southwest – Coldwell Banker Commercial.

He established his own brokerage and investment firm, MVP Real Estate LLC, in 2004 and has been growing his firm while collaborating with land owners, developers, builders, commercial clients and investors. In 2014, while many had a negative perception of Detroit, Joe not only saw promise and opportunity to contribute to this city’s visionary renaissance but an opportunity for his investors as well.

Joe brings ‘outside the box’ vision and real estate solutions to the real estate industry. Both buyer and sellers have benefitted from his experience and representation in entitlement, zoning and horizontal development, feasibility, as well as marketing and sales strategies. Joe’s problem solving abilities led to the resolution of a 40+ year old development rights issue that resulted in the implementation of a Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) Ordinance. The result was the practical and applicable TDR program that satisfied all parties – landowners, the municipality, bondholders, developers and builders. Joe’s innovation and advocacy resulted in the preservation of over 1000 acres of rural land while reducing development density to only 165 acres of the planned growth area.

Joe’s résumé and accomplishments extend beyond real estate and into philanthropy, government networking, and politics. Such a diversity of skills and experiences sets him apart. In March 2009, Joe was elected President and Chairman of the Board of VTV Family Outreach Foundation, which was formed by family members of the victims and survivors of the Virginia Tech tragedy of April 16, 2007. VTV became the nation’s leading advocacy group for schools and higher education safety by enhancing their awareness of best safety practices. Now, through its unique VTVCARE mission, VTV also assists with the long term care needs of survivors of mass shootings nationwide. A portion of MVP Real Estate’s profits are donated to VTVCARE.
